A Newark man was arrested after allegedly shoplifting merchandise from a Dollar Tree store on May 26, according to police.
Authorities said officers were dispatched to the store at approximately 4:34 p.m. after receiving a report of a shoplifting incident.
A caller told police that a man entered the business, placed an unknown quantity of merchandise into a brown Nike paper bag, and left the store without paying for the items.
Responding officers searched the area and located a suspect matching the description provided by store employees.
The individual was identified as 37-year-old Kyle Williams of Newark.
Police took Williams into custody and charged him with shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following processing, Williams was released pending a future court appearance.
