Good morning, New Jersey! After several days of gloomy skies, chilly temperatures, and persistent rain, we are waking up to a much better start across Newark and the North Jersey region this Tuesday morning.
The weather is finally cooperating as residents head out the door.
Temperatures are mild in downtown Newark, where it is currently 62 degrees.
Other parts of the state are starting off a bit cooler, with Sussex County checking in at 45 degrees, Morristown at 51, Edison at 55, and Seaside Heights at 59 degrees.
If you’re heading to the bus stop or beginning your morning commute, a light jacket should be enough to keep you comfortable.
There may be a little leftover dampness in the air, but nothing significant to worry about as conditions continue to improve throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog is possible before 8 a.m., followed by mostly sunny skies and a pleasant afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to climb to around 81 degrees, with light winds becoming calm during the morning hours.

Tonight, skies will turn mostly cloudy with overnight lows near 64 degrees. A light south wind around 5 mph will shift to the southwest after midnight.
Enjoy the sunshine and the much-needed break from the wet weather. Have a great Tuesday, New Jersey!
