UPDATE: Hudson Prosecutor’s Office Investigating Double Fatal Shooting in Jersey City

Authorities in Jersey City are investigating a double fatal shooting that claimed the lives of two men early Monday morning, according to officials.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said its Homicide Unit, along with the Jersey City Police Department, is leading the active and ongoing investigation.

 

Shortly after 1 a.m. on May 18, police were notified of shots fired in the area of 109-111 Old Bergen Road. 

Responding officers arrived and located two unresponsive men, ages 47 and 53, both from Jersey City, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a residence.

 

The victims were transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where both were pronounced dead.

 

Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victims pending notification of their next of kin.

 

No arrests have been announced as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
