Man Found Shot Dead Along New Jersey Bike Path

Authorities in Mullica Township are investigating a homicide after a man was found fatally shot Thursday morning near a bike path in the community.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, officers from the Mullica Township Police Department and detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit responded at approximately 6 a.m. on May 14 to the bike path area between Aleta Road and Locust Street following reports of a deceased male.

 

When authorities arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. 

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Officials said the victim’s cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
 

Investigators have not yet released the identity of the victim.
