Happy Thursday, Jersey!
We are waking up to damp conditions across Newark and the North Jersey region as rain that moved through overnight continues to taper off early this morning.
As of 4:30 a.m., it is currently 55 degrees in Newark with scattered showers still passing through portions of the area.
Don’t worry — this will not be a washout. While a few showers are expected on and off through the day, conditions should gradually improve, giving us a decent afternoon across the region.
If you are heading out early, keep the umbrella nearby as you may run into a quick shower during the morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service, showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected before 11 a.m., followed by lingering scattered showers through the afternoon.
Temperatures will climb to near 65 degrees with light winds becoming northwest later in the day.

Tonight, skies will begin to clear with only a slight chance of an early evening shower. Overnight lows are expected to fall to around 51 degrees.
Enjoy your day, Jersey!
