Good morning, New Jersey, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers across the Garden State and around the country.
We are waking up to a rather chilly start to this Sunday morning as temperatures hovered around 52 degrees at approximately 4:30 a.m.

Winds are blowing moderately, creating an even cooler feel outside, especially for anyone heading out early to First Sunday services or Mother’s Day gatherings.
If you are stepping out this morning, you may want to bring a light jacket as skies remain partly cloudy and pockets of fog continue to move through portions of the state.
As the morning progresses, sunshine is expected to break through the clouds and provide a beautiful backdrop for Mother’s Day celebrations throughout the region.
Afternoon temperatures are forecast to climb toward the upper 70s in some areas, although cooler spots across northern sections of the state may struggle to fully reach that mark.

- Downtown Newark is waking up at 52 degrees
- Morristown is checking in at 48 degrees
- Sparta in Sussex County is a chilly 39 degrees
