Hainesport authorities are investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that erupted into flames Thursday night in Burlington County.

According to preliminary information, emergency responders were dispatched shortly before 9:25 p.m. to the 1300 block of Route 38 after receiving reports of a serious collision.
When police, firefighters and EMS crews arrived, they found two heavily damaged vehicles, including one that had burst into flames.
Firefighters worked frantically to free an occupant trapped inside the burning vehicle, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for treatment. The person’s condition has not been confirmed.
Officials temporarily shut down portions of Route 38 while investigators examined the crash scene.

The cause of the collision remains under active and ongoing investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
