Warm, Cloudy Start Across Newark and North Jersey; Rain Arrives This Afternoon

Good Wednesday morning, New Jersey! The Newark and North Jersey region is waking up to warm and cloudy conditions as we begin the middle of the week.

If you’re headed out early, temperatures are sitting around 63 degrees in downtown Newark

The morning commute should remain dry, but don’t forget the umbrella before heading out the door because rain is expected to move into the region later today after a stretch of dry weather.

 

Forecasters say widespread showers are expected to arrive in the Newark area around noon and continue through much of the afternoon.

 

According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely mainly between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. with a high near 73 degrees. 

Southwest winds between 11 and 16 mph could gust as high as 29 mph. Rainfall amounts are expected to range between a tenth and a quarter inch.
 

Tonight, there remains a chance of showers before 11 p.m., followed by a slight chance of lingering rain after 2 a.m.
