Police in Newark are searching for suspects following a shots-fired incident Tuesday night in the city’s North Ward.
Just before 9 p.m., a ShotSpotter device activated in the area of 188 North 12th Street, prompting officers to respond to the neighborhood to investigate reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they located several shell casings scattered on the ground. 
However, after conducting a thorough search of the area, police did not locate any victims.
Authorities have not announced any arrests in connection with the incident and continue to investigate a motive for the shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
