Port Authority Police responded to an onboard disturbance Saturday evening at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Authorities said that at approximately 6:03 p.m., officers were notified of an altercation aboard United Airlines Flight 1837 as it arrived at Terminal B of Newark Liberty International Airport.
When the aircraft reached the gate, police detained a 48-year-old male without incident. 
The individual was transported to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
One person on board declined medical attention, and no other injuries were reported.
The incident remains under review.
