Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty to Pointing Gun During Dispute

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that in Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Thaddeus Cunningham, 43, from Atlantic City, pleaded guilty in front of the Honorable Christine Smith, J.S.C., to one count of fourth- degree unlawful pointing of a firearm at another.

The plea calls for a recommended sentence of 18 months in New Jersey State Prison with no parole, ACPO officials say. 

According to Atlantic County officials, on November 27, 2023, Atlantic City Police Department officers responded to the area of 1201 Adriatic Avenue in reference to a male in possession of a firearm.

Through surveillance and reports, officers were able to identify the male to be Cunningham, Atlantic County authorities said. 

ACPO officials said through the investigation, it was revealed Cunningham was in possession of a firearm at this time and had pointed the firearm at another individual during a dispute.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 18, 2026.
