Hazmat Crews Respond After Tractor-Trailer Jackknifes, Leaks Fluid on I-287 in Piscataway

Hazmat crews were called to the scene of a jackknifed tractor-trailer that leaked fluid on a busy New Jersey highway late Saturday night.

According to information released by the New Jersey State Police, troopers were notified of the crash just before 11:40 p.m. on Interstate 287 northbound near Exit 6 in Piscataway.

 

When emergency crews arrived, they found the tractor-trailer had jackknifed and was leaking fluids onto the roadway.

 

Authorities temporarily closed lanes along the highway as hazmat teams worked to contain and clean up the spill.

 

No serious injuries were reported in the incident.

 

The crash remains under investigation.
