Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects involved in a robbery and shooting that left a man injured last month in the city’s West Ward.

According to information sent by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the incident occurred on March 13, near South Orange Avenue and Littleton Avenue at approximately 10 p.m.
Police responded to reports of a victim suffering from a gunshot wound and, upon arrival, learned that the victim had been involved in an argument with three individuals before being attacked and robbed.
During the encounter, one of the suspects fired a weapon, striking the victim in the leg.
Officials said all three suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
The injured victim was able to make his way to University Hospital for treatment.
Authorities described two of the suspects involved in the robbery as Black males with dark brown complexions.
The first suspect was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a denim jacket featuring a multi-color design on the back.
The second suspect was wearing a black and blue jacket, a dark blue Adidas knit hat, and dark-colored pants.
The third suspect, identified as the individual who fired the gun, is described as a tall Black male with a medium brown complexion. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a black coat.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Newark Public Safety officials.
