An 85-year-old man has died following a vehicle fire at a residential property in Bergen County over the weekend, according to information released by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutor Mark Musella said the incident occurred around 12:08 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, in the driveway of a private home on Campbell Avenue in Woodcliff Lake.
Police and firefighters responded to reports of a serious vehicle fire and, during suppression efforts, located Raymond F. Stupienski Jr., 85, outside the burning vehicle near the rear entrance of the residence.
Authorities said Stupienski was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Following the initial response, the prosecutor’s office Arson Squad and the Bergen County Arson Task Force were notified and joined the investigation alongside local police, fire officials, and the Woodcliff Lake Fire Prevention Bureau.
Officials said the investigation determined that the fire was not suspicious in nature.

The investigation remains active, but no foul play is suspected.
