Authorities are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred Wednesday evening in Newark.
According to information released by Emanuel Miranda Sr., police responded at approximately 6:26 p.m. on April 15, 2026, to the 500 block of Hunterdon Street following a ShotSpotter activation.
Upon arrival, responding officers located spent shell casings in the area. However, no victims were found at the scene.
One person (a juvenile) was detained at the scene. 
The incident remains under active investigation.
