An early morning incident on the Port Authority Trans-Hudson line in Newark left one person critically injured and temporarily disrupted service for commuters.
At approximately 6:00 a.m. on April 15, Port Authority Police Department officers and EMS responded to reports of a trespasser on the tracks along the NewarkâWorld Trade Center line.
Authorities said the individual was safely removed from the tracks and transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
While reports circulated on social media suggesting the man may have been electrocuted, officials have not confirmed how the injuries occurred, noting the incident remains under active investigation.
The situation prompted a temporary suspension of service around 7:30 a.m. between Newark and Journal Square, with NJ Transit cross-honoring PATH tickets during the disruption.
Service was restored by approximately 8:00 a.m., with cross-honoring ending around 9:00 a.m.

The investigation remains ongoing.
