UPDATE: Woman Launches Unprovoked Stabbing in East Orange Police say

Police in East Orange are investigating a stabbing that left a man injured Wednesday evening, according to preliminary information released by authorities.

The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. near Renshaw Avenue and North Clinton Street, when officers were dispatched to reports of an injured individual. 

Upon arrival, police located a 24-year-old man suffering multiple cuts to his torso.

 

The victim was transported to University Hospital, where he was treated for injuries to the abdomen that were not considered life-threatening.

 

According to the victim, he was walking near Prospect Street and Renshaw Avenue when he was approached by a newer model Range Rover SUV occupied by a female driver and a male passenger. 

The male passenger allegedly began yelling obscenities before the female exited the vehicle and, without warning, stabbed the victim multiple times.
 

The suspects fled the scene and remain unidentified.

 

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
