Police in Jersey City are searching for a suspect involved in a violent aggravated assault and attempted robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning.
Officers were dispatched around 3 a.m. to the area of 189 Martin Luther King Drive after receiving reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police located a victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
According to preliminary information, a suspect approached the victim and attempted to steal a cellphone before assaulting them.
The victim was treated for their injuries as police and detectives canvassed the area for evidence and began searching for the suspect.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
