Members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 29-year-old Anthony Robinson in Jersey City in connection with a brutal attack that left a man seriously injured.

The incident occurred at the MLK Light Rail Station, where authorities say the suspect struck the victim with a hammer during a violent encounter aboard a train.

After the assault, Robinson fled the scene, prompting an intensive investigation and manhunt.

Officials said Robinson was located and arrested after approximately a month of searching.

He was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and NJ Transit Police officers at the Booker T. Washington Houses in Jersey City.

Robinson is now facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Acting U.S. Marshal Nicholas Ricigliano said the arrest underscores law enforcement’s commitment to tracking down violent offenders.
