We are waking up to a warm Wednesday morning in Newark and across the North Jersey region, and temperatures are expected to steadily rise through the day, making for a pleasant stretch of weather, and that’s no April Fools’ joke.

Good morning, and thank you for waking up with us as we guide you through your weather day.
It’s currently around 70 degrees near Broad and Market Street in downtown Newark, and conditions will remain comfortable as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 70s this afternoon.
If you’re heading out around 4:30 a.m., a light jacket should be more than enough, though it will feel more like early summer than early April.
Enjoy it while it lasts, because a shift is on the way later today.
Conditions will stay nice through much of the daytime hours before changes arrive late.
According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely to develop, with rain and possibly a thunderstorm expected after 2 p.m. Highs will reach near 77 degrees, with a southwest wind between 8 and 10 mph.
The chance of precipitation is 80%, with rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter inch, though higher totals are possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday night will bring continued showers, mainly before 5 a.m., along with patchy fog developing after 2 a.m.
Temperatures will drop significantly, with lows around 46 degrees and a northeast wind between 7 and 10 mph. The chance of rain remains at 80%.

Enjoy the warm start, but be ready for a cooler, wetter change as we head into tonight.
Have a great day, New Jersey.
