Two South Jersey men have been found guilty in connection with a 2021 fatal shooting that prosecutors say stemmed from a dispute following a minor car accident.

An Atlantic County jury convicted Denzel Garrison, 33, of Atlantic City, and Laquine Demby, 35, of Pleasantville, after a two-week trial in the killing of 28-year-old Jahmil Greenidge.
According to evidence presented in court, the motive for the murder originated from a minor crash between Garrison and Greenidge roughly two months before the shooting.
A disagreement over who would cover insurance deductibles escalated into an ongoing feud.
Prosecutors said Garrison ultimately enlisted Demby to help carry out the attack.
On May 19, 2021, authorities said Demby drove Garrison to Greenidge’s residence, where the pair waited nearly an hour for the victim to return home from work.
As Greenidge entered the foyer of his apartment building, Garrison approached him from behind and fired six shots, fatally wounding him.
The two men then fled the scene.
Garrison was charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He was also charged with creating a grave risk of danger to others, though the jury did not convict him on that count.
Demby was charged with murder as an accomplice and conspiracy to commit murder. The jury returned guilty verdicts against both men.
Both defendants have remained in custody since October 2021 and now face the possibility of life in prison.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 13, 2026.
