ALERT: Hudson County Authorities Search for Man Wanted in Union City Deadly Shooting

 Authorities in Hudson County are actively searching for a North Bergen man charged in connection with a deadly shooting that took place earlier this month in Union City.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has issued a warrant for Luis Marin, 57, who is wanted on charges including murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a weapon.

 

Prosecutors say Marin is considered dangerous and should not be approached. 

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact authorities immediately.

 

The charges stem from a shooting reported just after 1:50 a.m. on March 23, 2026. 

According to officials, officers with the Union City Police Department responded to reports of an altercation and gunfire in the area of Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street.

 

Upon arrival, police located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. 

The victim, later identified as David Pulgarin, 42, of North Bergen, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m.
