Authorities in West Orange are investigating a fatal house fire that claimed the life of a 55-year-old man on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and West Orange Fire Chief Anthony Vecchio said the fire was reported at approximately 1 p.m. at a residence located at 108 Clarken Avenue.
Upon arrival, firefighters located Sean S. Tracy, 55, inside the home, in a bed within the master bedroom.
He was transported to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 p.m., officials said.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under active investigation. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
