Commuters across New Jersey will soon have a direct voice in shaping the future of their daily travel, as Mikie Sherrill has signed an executive order requiring sweeping improvements at NJ TRANSIT.

Under Executive Order No. 16, the agency has been directed to create a “Rapid Action Plan” focused on enhancing the overall rider experience.
The plan will target key areas including cleanliness, accessibility, safety, and digital services. Officials have been given a 45-day deadline to deliver the plan to the governor.
As part of that effort, NJ TRANSIT Customer Advocate Franck Beaumin will host a series of virtual listening forums aimed at gathering feedback directly from riders.
The sessions are designed to give customers an opportunity to share real experiences and propose improvements across all modes of service.
Beaumin emphasized that customer input will play a central role in shaping the agency’s next steps, noting that engaging directly with riders is essential to improving the system and making trips more reliable and enjoyable.
The forums are open to the public, and participants are encouraged to register in advance and sign up to speak.
Riders who cannot attend will still have the option to submit feedback through an online survey.

Virtual Forum Schedule:
• Tuesday, March 31 – 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Thursday, April 2 – 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday, April 4 – 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The initiative marks one of the first major transit-focused actions under Governor Sherrill’s administration, signaling a push to address long-standing rider concerns while modernizing the state’s transportation network.
