A teenage boy is recovering after being stabbed multiple times near a police station in Hackensack on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 3 p.m. near Central Avenue and Union Street, just steps from the police station.
According to information released by officials and reports from local media, the teen was approached by a group, and the situation quickly escalated into violence.
The victim managed to flee the immediate scene before collapsing about a block away, where responding officers and emergency crews located him with multiple stab wounds.
Family members told reporters the teen was stabbed several times, reportedly as many as seven, and underwent emergency surgery.
He is currently listed in serious but stable condition.
The suspects fled the scene on foot and have not yet been taken into custody.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, along with local police, is actively investigating the incident. Authorities have not yet released a motive as the investigation remains ongoing.
