Good morning, New Jersey, and thank you for starting your day with us.

If you’re heading out early or getting the kids ready for the bus stop, make sure to grab those umbrellas.

Periods of rain, some heavy at times, are expected through the morning, with lighter showers lingering into the afternoon.

Temperatures in downtown Newark are sitting around 49 degrees, and while it’s not overly cold, breezy conditions are making it feel a bit cooler outside.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected mainly before 11 a.m., followed by a slight chance of showers after 2 p.m.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy with a high near 47 degrees and north winds around 11 mph. Rainfall totals are expected to range between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
