Morristown Man Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run; Suspect Remains at Large

Authorities in Morris County have filed charges against a Morristown man accused of fleeing the scene of a fatal crash that claimed a victim’s life Friday morning.

According to information released by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Wilson “Adrian” Morocho-Necta, 33, has been identified as the alleged driver involved in the deadly incident and is currently being sought by law enforcement.

 

The crash occurred on March 20, at approximately 6:53 a.m. in the area of Sussex Avenue and Speedwell Place. Police, fire crews, and EMS responded to reports of an individual pinned beneath a truck.
 

The victim was transported to Morristown Medical Center, where they were later pronounced deceased.
 

Authorities say the driver fled the scene on foot before emergency responders arrived. 

Following a joint investigation by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morristown Police Department, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Morocho-Necta was identified as the suspect.

 

He has been charged with second-degree leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, as well as third-degree endangering an injured victim.

 

Officials say the investigation remains active as authorities work to locate the suspect, who is commonly known as “Adrian.”
