UPDATE: Police Investigate South Ward Shooting That Damaged Home and Car

Police in Newark responded to a shots fired incident in the city’s South Ward on Wednesday afternoon that left property damaged but no reported injuries.

Authorities were initially dispatched to the area near 250 Clinton Place after reports of gunfire. 

As previously reported by RLS Media, units arrived and located multiple shell casings, prompting officials to secure the scene and launch an investigation.

 

According to an update provided just before 4:40 p.m., detectives canvassing the area discovered that a vehicle had been struck by gunfire. 

Additionally, a nearby home was found to have been penetrated by bullets.

 

Despite the damage, officials confirmed that no occupants inside the residence or the vehicle were injured.

The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
 

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities note that the area has experienced repeated incidents of gun-related violence.
