Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle on U.S. Route 1 in Mercer County

Police closed a busy roadway in Mercer County early Sunday morning while investigating a crash that left a pedestrian severely injured around 2 am.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. Route 1 near Lower Harrison Street in West Windsor Township after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
 

Upon arrival, police and EMS crews found an unconscious and unidentified person suffering severe injuries in the roadway. 

Medical personnel performed CPR and were able to revive the victim before transporting them to an area hospital for treatment.

 

The extent of the victim’s condition had not been confirmed as of approximately 4:30 a.m.

 

Authorities remained on scene conducting an active investigation.
