Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty to Firearm, Narcotics Charges

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Friday, March 13, Rashid Hamilton, 37, from Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun and third-degree possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance in front of the Honorable Joseph Levin, J.S.C.

The plea calls for a sentence of ten years in New Jersey State prison, subject to a 42-month period of parole ineligibility, ACPO officials said. 

According to Atlantic County officials, on August 16, 2025, Atlantic City Police Department officers observed Hamilton display a clear bag containing cocaine to another male in the area of S. Kentucky Avenue.

Hamilton was arrested, and police discovered he was in possession of over nine grams of cocaine as well as a handgun, ACPO officials say. 

Atlantic County officials said that Hamilton was detained following a detention hearing on August 20, 2025.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 26, ACPO authorities stated.
