Officials in Paterson will gather Thursday morning to celebrate Irish heritage with a ceremonial flag raising at City Hall ahead of St. Patrick’s Day.

According to information released by city officials, Mayor Andre Sayegh and members of the Paterson City Council will lead the ceremony honoring the Irish community and recognizing its cultural contributions to the city.
The event will also include special recognition for Terry Duffy, who will be acknowledged for his years of dedication and service to the community.
The recognition is part of an annual tradition in Paterson that highlights Irish Americans who have made meaningful contributions to the city.
Members of the Paterson community, along with local officials and council members, are expected to attend the ceremony.
The event will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at Paterson City Hall. The flag raising serves as part of the city’s celebration leading up to St. Patrick’s Day.
