Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and New Brunswick Police Chief Vincent Sabo announced that authorities are investigating a serious motor vehicle crash that left a woman critically injured in the City of New Brunswick.
According to officials, the crash occurred on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route 18 and Paulus Boulevard.
Investigators said the collision involved a tractor-trailer operated by a 57-year-old man from Norristown, Pennsylvania, and a BMW driven by a 27-year-old woman from Parlin.
The driver of the BMW sustained severe head injuries and was initially transported to JFK Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities said the victim was later transferred to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
The driver of the tractor-trailer did not suffer any serious injuries in the crash.
During the course of the investigation, officials determined that a third vehicle—an Infiniti Q50 operated by a 27-year-old man from Parlin—was also involved in the collision.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under active investigation.
