Woman Arrested After Early-Morning Stabbing in Newark

Newark police are investigating an early-morning stabbing that left a man injured and a woman in custody.
 

According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:01 a.m. to the area of 4th Avenue near Summer Avenue on reports of a stabbing.

 

When police arrived, they located a male victim who had sustained stab wounds.

Authorities said the suspect is a woman known to the victim.

 

The injured man was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.

 

The female suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
