Newark Man Accused of Stealing $445 in Sneakers from Bloomfield Store

A 55-year-old Newark man was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal nearly $450 worth of merchandise from a Bloomfield retail store, authorities said.

On February 7, 2026, officers responded to Marshall’s, located at 8-12 Franklin Street, on a report of a shoplifting incident.
 

According to a loss prevention officer, the suspect took several pairs of sneakers valued at $445.46 and attempted to leave the store without paying. 

Police arrived shortly after and placed the man, identified as David Graham, 55, of Newark, under arrest.

He was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing.

 

The incident remains under review.
