Police in Essex County are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a vehicle theft that may be tied to a home invasion in Upper Montclair early Sunday.
According to preliminary information, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Montclair police were dispatched to the 300 block of North Fullerton Avenue on reports of a stolen vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a suspect had allegedly forced entry into a residence, taken vehicle keys from inside the home, and fled the scene in a dark-colored 2023 Audi.
Authorities believe the vehicle belonged to residents of the home.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under active review as investigators work to determine the full sequence of events.
At this time, no injuries have been reported.
The investigation remains ongoing.
