Authorities in Newark are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 13-year-old girl.
According to a statement released by Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., Ashley Vargas, 13, was last seen on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in the area of South 9th Street near Central Avenue.
Ashley is described as Hispanic, approximately 5 feet tall, and weighing about 115 pounds.
She was last seen wearing black pants and a black sweater.
Officials are urging anyone with information about Ashley’s whereabouts to immediately contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
