A 44-year-old Fairview man is facing additional first- and second-degree sexual assault charges as investigators continue to examine allegations involving multiple victims.
Carlos M. Leon was previously arrested following a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fairview Police Department into allegations that he sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile on multiple occasions between November 2024 and January 2026 in Fairview.
Authorities said Leon was initially charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child.
After his first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, he was ordered detained pending further court proceedings.
As the investigation progressed, detectives determined that Leon allegedly sexually assaulted an additional victim in July 2017.
On February 10, 2026, prosecutors filed additional charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault.
The investigation remains active.
