Authorities in Monmouth County announced that a Grand Jury has returned a seven-count indictment against three individuals charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a New Jersey man last year at Pier Village in Long Branch.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago stated that Dwayne Exilus, 19, Isaiah Z. Walker, 19, and Jahbron J. Goff, 18, whose identity had previously been withheld due to his age at the time of the incident, are all charged with second-degree Conspiracy to Commit Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, third-degree Hindering and fourth-degree Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
Goff was also charged with first-degree Murder and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, while Exilus and Walker were also charged with one count each of third-degree hindering the Apprehension of another, Monmouth County officials said.
According to MCPO officials, on Thursday evening, June 12, 2025, at approximately 8:58 p.m., members of the Long Branch Police Department responded to the Chelsea Avenue beach between the shoreline and the boardwalk of Pier Village for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Chrystofer A. Whyte, 18 (pictured above), was pronounced deceased at the scene, Monmouth County authorities said.
The investigation into Whyte’s death, led by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Long Branch Police Department, resulted in the identification of Goff as the individual responsible for shooting Whyte, MCPO officials say.
According to Monmouth County officials, the investigation further resulted in Exilus, Walker, and another juvenile being charged with the unlawful possession of firearms and efforts to conceal Goff’s involvement in the crime.
