Firefighters were dispatched to a residence at 98 Ashland Avenue after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a fire inside the home.

When crews arrived, they found heavy fire venting through the roof of a 2½-story building and immediately struck a second alarm.

Firefighters stretched several hose lines and aggressively attacked the blaze.

Crews were able to locate the seat of the fire, knock down the flames, and bring the fire under control in under an hour.

A search of the residence confirmed that no occupants were trapped or injured.
