Authorities in Newark are asking for the public’s help in locating Sandra Shanks, 60, who has been reported missing.
Ms. Shanks was last seen at her place of employment, Marion P. Thomas School, at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, according to officials.
She is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. 
At the time she was last seen, she was wearing a red coat, black flats, a curly wig, and glasses. Authorities report that her mental and physical conditions are good.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. urges anyone with information regarding Ms. Shanks’ whereabouts to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
