Maplewood Police are investigating an attempted residential burglary reported on Girard Place.
At approximately 6:40 a.m., officers responded to a call reporting that three individuals attempted to force entry into a residence. 
The suspects first tried the front door, then moved to a side entrance, and later attempted to gain access through a rear glass door.
All attempts were unsuccessful, and no injuries or property damage were reported.
Following an investigation, Montclair Police Department detectives identified and charged three suspects, all from Newark.
Mr. Amar Lewis, 22, of Newark, was charged with attempted burglary and conspiracy.
A 16-year-old male was charged with attempted burglary, conspiracy, and possession of burglary tools.
A 17-year-old male was charged with attempted burglary, conspiracy, possession of burglary tools, and resisting arrest.
The identities of the juveniles were not released due to their age. 
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges have not been ruled out.
