A Trenton man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred earlier this month in Ewing Township, according to a statement released by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey and Ewing Police Chief Al Rhodes said the investigation, led by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Ewing Police Department, resulted in the arrest of 35-year-old Davon Holloman of Trenton.
Holloman faces charges of first-degree murder, third- and fourth-degree weapons offenses, and three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
He was taken into custody on January 22, 2026, in Trenton. Prosecutors have filed a motion seeking to detain him pending trial.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. on January 8, 2026, when Ewing police responded to the first block of New Hillcrest Avenue on a report of a man who had been stabbed.
Officers found an adult male in the roadway suffering from multiple stab wounds to the torso.
The victim was identified as 40-year-old Jimmy Chase of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries the following morning.
Investigators determined that Holloman and Chase were involved in a physical altercation.
Chase was identified as the father of Holloman’s girlfriend’s children. Authorities said much of the incident was captured on a cell phone video, which also shows three young children attempting to intervene during the confrontation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
