Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on January 21, Jaquan Washington, 31, from Absecon, pleaded guilty on three separate indictments to five counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics. Pursuant to the terms of his plea agreement, Washington’s recommended sentence will be three years in New Jersey State Prison.

According to Atlantic County officials, on that same date, Washington's co-defendant in one case, Timothy Kelly, 33, from Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute narcotics.
Kelly's plea agreement recommends a sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison, ACPO officials say.
Atlantic County officials stated that on August 21, 2024, Washington and Kelly were observed by Atlantic City police officers passing narcotics to each other on Atlantic Avenue, in broad daylight.
When stopped by ACPD, both defendants were found with a variety of narcotics, including cocaine, oxycodone, and suboxone in distribution amounts, ACPO officlas said.
Atlantic County officials said that on October 8, 2025, ACPD officers observed Washington conducting a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction in the area of 1541 Atlantic Avenue.
Washington was stopped and found to have pills on him consistent with oxycodone. He also had a large sum of money on him, ACPO authorities said. 
According to Atlantic County officials, on October 20, 2025, ACPD officers again observed Washington conducting a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction in the area of the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue.
Washington was stopped and found to have approximately 63 wax folds of heroin/fentanyl on him, along with $237.00 cash, ACPO officials say.
