Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in identifying the male suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred on Saturday, January 17.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., stated that at approximately 10:11 a.m., Police responded to Hawthorne Avenue near Elizabeth Avenue on a call of shots fired.
Responding Officers did not locate any victims nor any property damage related to gunfire, Newark officials said. Police did locate six spent shell casings in the area, however.

Surveillance footage also captured a male suspect who parked and exited a white GMC SUV in the area, according to Newark officials.
Newark officials say the suspect was also seen in possession of a rifle-style firearm.
