A Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Essex County for Monday night’s drawing, New Jersey Lottery officials confirmed.

The winning ticket was purchased at Hari Mini Store on Thomas Boulevard in East Orange.
The ticket matched five white-ball numbers but did not include the Powerball, qualifying it for the game’s second-tier prize.
In Burlington County, a $250,000 Double Play ticket was also sold for Monday’s drawing. That ticket was purchased at Hartford Market on Hartford Road in Delran, and matched four numbers plus the Powerball.
Monday’s winning numbers were 5, 28, 34, 37, and 55. The Powerball number was 17, and the Power Play multiplier was 3x.
No tickets nationwide matched all six numbers to win the $193 million jackpot.
As a result, the jackpot for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing has increased to an estimated $209 million, with a cash option of $95.2 million.

Lottery officials said there were no other $1 million tickets sold across the country for Monday’s drawing.
According to the New Jersey Lottery, a player who purchases a $2 Powerball ticket has odds of about 1 in 11.7 million of matching five numbers without the Powerball—an outcome that earns a prize of at least $1 million.
