County authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Friday evening at a busy intersection in Caldwell.
The incident happened just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Cleveland Street, officials said.
Police and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and found an individual unconscious, unresponsive, and suffering from severe injuries.
Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators believe the crash was a hit-and-run, and no arrests have been made at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Authorities have not released additional details, including the identity of the victim, as they continue to work the case.
