Two young boys were found dead inside their Hillsborough home Tuesday evening, and their mother has been arrested and charged in connection with their deaths, authorities said.

According to investigators, the children’s father called 911 at approximately 6:45 p.m. after returning home from work and discovering his two sons unconscious.
During the call, he told dispatchers that his wife had harmed the children.
When officers arrived at the residence, they found both parents inside the home along with the two boys, ages 5 and 7, who were located in a bedroom.
Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but both children were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.
Authorities said the children’s mother, Priyatharsini Natarajan, 35, was taken into custody following the investigation.
Detectives determined that the children were killed earlier in the day.
Natarajan has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
She is currently being held at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Officials said autopsies will be conducted to formally confirm the identities of the children and determine the exact cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information was released at this time.
