An investigation is underway after a vehicle driven by a juvenile crashed into a building early Wednesday morning in Newark, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda.

Authorities said the incident occurred at approximately 2:22 a.m. on January 14, in the area of Sanford Avenue near South Orange Avenue.
Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed before it collided with a building located at 1044 South Orange Avenue.
The driver, identified as a juvenile male, along with three juvenile male passengers, reported complaints of pain following the crash crash.
All four were transported to University Hospital for medical evaluation. Officials said no additional injuries were reported.

Police issued the driver summonses for failure to possess a driver’s license, careless driving, and driving without an insurance card.
The crash remains under active investigation by the Newark Police Department. No further information was released at this time.
