Pick of the Week: Mild Midweek Morning for Newark

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

It’s the pick of the week as Newark and the North Jersey region wake up to a mild midweek morning.
As of 4:30 a.m., temperatures are coming in at 47 degrees, setting the stage for a fairly comfortable day ahead.

If you’re heading out the door early, especially toward the bus stop in downtown Newark, you’ll notice some cool breezes, so a warm jacket is still a good idea.

The good news is you won’t need to stay bundled all day.

As the morning progresses, temperatures will gradually climb, topping out right around the low 50s later this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of showers developing after mid-morning.

Winds will stay light, coming out of the southwest at about 5 to 7 miles per hour.

Tonight, clouds will stick around, with rain showers possible before the early overnight hours.

As temperatures drop closer to freezing, there’s also a chance for a mix of rain and snow toward daybreak.

Lows are expected to settle near 33 degrees, with winds becoming light out of the west after midnight.

Overall, a decent midweek day is on tap with mild temperatures and manageable conditions.
