Newark

We’re waking up to a chilly but calm Tuesday morning across Newark and the North Jersey region.

Skies are mostly clear as you head out the door, and right now temperatures are sitting around 36 degrees.

While it feels cold early, we’ll warm up nicely through the day, climbing into the mid to upper 40s, which is actually a little above average for this time of year.

As we move through the afternoon, you’ll notice a bit more of a breeze as southwest winds begin to kick in, helping to bring in slightly milder air.

Clouds will steadily increase, but it should stay dry for most of the day.

According to the National Weather Service, highs will reach near 47 degrees with southwest winds between 6 and 8 miles per hour.

By tonight, skies will remain mostly cloudy, and there is a slight 20 percent chance of a few showers after 1 a.m.

Overnight lows will dip to around 39 degrees.

Overall, not a bad day to get out and move around — just keep a jacket handy this morning and enjoy the milder feel later on.
